It’s 2022!

This is one of my favorite times of the year because it’s a time when everyone is hopeful. We make promises to ourselves to be on our best behavior. We eat cleaner, we start using our gym memberships, and we finally change our lancets. Ohh, yes! We all wear the scent of new beginnings in some way.

In addition to goal setting and vision board creating, this is also a time of reflection.

As I reflect back on the past two years, a lot has happened. I moved across three countries, a world-wide pandemic appeared out of nowhere, I ran out of insulin pump supplies and discovered the underground market, I started having COVID-19 related anxiety attacks, and I left a 10-year career as a professor to work in the diabetes space. Yippee! Most of these events occurred without me writing about it here (I ‘ve been active in Instagram @BlackDiabeticInfo), and this year, I will change that.

I miss blogging, my first expression of diabetes advocacy, and promise you will see more of me in 2022!

She’s back!
